| Jerusalem: Living in the Shadow of God Documentary Feature Film This film is produced by Crisman Films and co-produced by Frida Productions "Jerusalem: Living in the Shadow of God" is an in-depth look into the discord and jingoist attitudes that has led to more than a millennium of conflict between the three widespread monotheistic religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. From award wining director/producer Stephen Crisman ("Blood Money: Switzerland's Nazi Gold" (1997), "Bob Dylan: The American Troubadour" 2004, etc.), this in-depth and intimate film looks at the problems that have plagued the old city of Jerusalem since the Temple of David, the time of Jesus and the Flight of Mohammad to heaven. Intertwined in a very complicated political situation, "Jerusalem: Living in the Shadow of God" provides a clear description of how all three Faiths- Jewish, Christian, and Muslim, suffer in the historical battle over Faith, Territory and God. "Jerusalem: Living in the Shadow of God" presents the viewer with the dilemmas that face each side, exploring the political predicaments that have caused massive suffering in Israel, Palestine and beyond. A Palestinian bomber, Edgar Bronfman Sr. (President of the World Jewish Congress,) a female Israeli soldier, the Patriarch's of the Greek and Armenian Churches, Hamas and Fatah party leaders, Knesset and Mosaad leaders and other key players, victims and bystanders are a few of the individuals explored in this film that helps the viewer digest a very complicated problem and, so far unresolved, violent dilemma -- with clarity and straightforward storytelling. Narrated by Michael Keaton, "Jerusalem: Living in the Shadow of God" challenges the viewer to step outside the personal and embrace the universal angst that resides in this region. |
